about
Hi! I’m Kate, born and raised in Singapore, and a recent graduate from Dartmouth College. I’m now based in Washington, D.C., working my dream job with the U.S. Climate Action Network — a non-profit that brings over 180 environmental organizations together to accelerate collective impact.
I care deeply about sustainability and inequality, and went plant-based in 2016 for ethical and environmental reasons. But beyond individual lifestyle changes, my interests lie at the intersection of climate action, policy, social change, and storytelling.
I used to run a sustainability Instagram which amassed a humble 6,400 followers at its peak. Increasingly, however, I found that 10 squares on social media simply could not capture the nuance behind such complex issues like environmental and racial injustice. So in December 2022, I finally decided to leave Instagram (I explain more about that here). Instead, on this platform, I hope to open up deeper conversations as well as track my progress in writing at Dartmouth. I hope this space will tell you a bit more about who I am and what I stand for.
